Hololive version of the Guess Who card game.

Ask questions to narrow down the identity of your opponent's card.

Play against the computer or online multiplayer.

**Mobile is not supported**

This is an unofficial, free, hololive fan-game. Made in compliance of Cover Corp's Derivative Works Guidelines. Feel free to use any video footage in whatever way you desire.

As a niche game, the best option to find an online match is to recruit an opponent beforehand. You can do so on this discord server: https://discord.gg/UhnNqF4Fc4

How To Play:

Construct your question with the Question Builder, or the search function, then submit your question on your turn.

When ready to identify your opponent's character, select the guess option in the Question Builder, select the card on the board and click submit. Guessing uses an entire turn.

Notes:

- It is possible for both players to have the same card.

- Answers to Questions are subject to their appearance on the card. For example, even if it is known they have normal ears, the question 'Does the idol have human ears?' must be answered 'Uncertain' if their hair covers their ears on the card.

Controls:

Move Camera: WASD, arrows keys

Zoom In/Out: Q+E, mouse wheel

Camera Lock: L

It's fun, tho I couldn't get online to work, on web at least. (copy to clipboard also doesn't work) maybe polish the UI a bit like close the question builder after asking a question and a delay between the CPU's answer and your next question

Thanks for the feedback.

. When you say online didn’t work, do you mean you couldn’t find a match, or that the netcode failed? If the former, the game is very niche, the lobbies are empty, you would need to recruit your own opponent elsewhere before playing, like discord. If the latter, please give me as many details as you can (did the game hang/freeze, error in browser, browser type), thanks.

. Confirmed [copy to clipboard] is not working on the web version, thanks for the bug report.

. Both your UI suggestions were once in the game. They were changed to improve flow. That answer may seem dismissive, so I can explain the design choices here, if you’re curious/bored:

Details .Closing the question builder: Having the UI do something the player did not ask it to (and may not want) can be off-putting and disorienting. The more likely actions the player would take after asking a question are checking how the other questions would split the deck, and building the next question in advance. Having that interrupted by the window automatically closing is a frustrating experience. And given what the player -who does collapse the builder- wants is to see the board, instead, the builder window was made transparent, and all camera controls are still functional when it is open.

.Delay between CPU question answered and question asked: This is fair. I can see it being somewhat jarring if the player is new. As for why: I am combining interruptions. The core mechanic is studying the deck to narrow down the right card. Both receiving a question and receiving an answer interrupt this. The player doesn’t think about their answer (it is instant and straightforward), but they do have to think about their opponent’s answer, and how it changes the deck and their search. So I give the player the simple part as fast as possible, to get it out of the way so they can focus on their strategy. The interruption is unavoidable in human-human interactions, but it can be streamlined here.

i had a lot of fun with this.

I would have wanted to know what the opponents hand was but generally my tip is to look at the entire deck and find a way to have a 50-50 split happen.

Generally choosing "Is your member JP" is the best choice, and then asking if they appear human will have many options like "uncertain, yes and no" which can filter many of the options greatly.

Very good game!

Thanks for playing. I noticed that strategy emerging in testing, so I added the smaller deck size options to counter the meta of questions. I recommend them if you find the games becoming repetitive in approach. There is a design reason the opponent’s hand is not revealed, but I see it is unsatisfying to the player. I’ll add the opponent’s card to the game over screen in an update.

Fun game, done a few game with CPU that is smart but not too OP. It would be cool when you  lose a match it tell you what the opponent card was.  Tried to find a lobby but nothing :(

Thanks for playing.

It is a very niche game, the only way to find someone to play with would be by recruiting them elsewhere, (I am currently working on making a discord server with a looking-for-game channel/role, still in early progress).

Update: discord server is up, link in the game description.
